John William Keedy: It's Hardly Noticeable

It's Hardly Noticeable
John William Keedy
September 14 - October 27, 2012

"It’s Hardly Noticeable" explores the world of a character who struggles to reconcile himself with his differences, caught between an overwhelming drive to yield to his compulsions and an undeniable desire to blend in with those around him. Reluctant and submissive, yet resilient and proactive, he attempts to find a balance between conflicting pressures, each vying to determine his behaviors.
The series portrays a character who won’t fall victim to his imperfections, even while living with internal uncertainty. Though he works towards his own ends, for me the character’s role is performative, a way to indulge my own anxieties. He provides a setting to continue my own search for balance, as I begin to define a new ‘normal.’
